How to Prepare Your Dog for a Pet Sitter

How to Prepare Your Dog for a Pet Sitter
Leaving your dog with a pet sitter for the first time can feel stressful, but a little preparation can make the experience much easier for both you and your dog.
1. Give Your Pet Sitter Clear Instructions
Explain your dog's normal routine, feeding schedule, medication, exercise needs, and anything else your sitter should know.
2. Prepare Your Dog's Food
Make sure your dog's food is clearly labeled and explain how much your dog normally eats and when meals should be given.
3. Leave Emergency Contact Information
Give your pet sitter your contact information, your veterinarian's information, and another emergency contact they can reach if necessary.
4. Explain Your Dog's Routine
Your dog will usually feel more comfortable when their normal routine stays as consistent as possible.
5. Do a Quick Introduction Before You Leave
If possible, allow your dog and the pet sitter to spend some time together before your trip.
A little preparation can help your pet sitter provide better care and help your dog feel comfortable while you're away.
